Terms of Use
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Welcome to Indie Music Math. By using IndieMusicMath.com, you agree to these Terms of Use.
Informational Tools, Not Professional Advice
Indie Music Math provides calculators, planning tools and educational information intended to help musicians make informed decisions.
The results provided by these tools are estimates and recommendations based on the information you enter and the assumptions described on each tool's page. They are not guarantees and are not a substitute for professional services when those services are appropriate.
For example, information provided by the Guitar Setup Assistant is not a substitute for an experienced guitar technician, and information provided by the Vinyl Sequencing Optimizer is not a substitute for advice from a mastering engineer, cutting engineer or record manufacturer.
Use your judgment when applying any recommendation.
Guitar Setup and Instrument Adjustments
Working on a musical instrument can cause damage if adjustments are made incorrectly.
Indie Music Math may help identify possible causes of setup problems, but you are responsible for deciding whether to perform an adjustment yourself. Stop and consult a qualified repair technician if an adjustment requires unusual force, you're uncertain about the procedure, or the work involves an irreversible modification such as filing a nut or removing material from an acoustic guitar saddle.
Recording and Data Storage
Storage estimates provided by Indie Music Math are planning estimates.
Actual storage requirements can vary depending on your recording software, workflow, file formats, editing practices and other factors.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important recordings and other data. A storage estimate provided by Indie Music Math should not be considered a guarantee against data loss.
Vinyl and Release Planning
Vinyl running-time calculations are planning tools only.
The amount of material that can be successfully cut to a vinyl record depends on factors beyond running time, including the program material, desired playback level, mastering and cutting decisions, and manufacturing requirements.
Confirm final specifications with your mastering engineer, cutting engineer or record manufacturer before manufacturing a release.
Live Performance Planning
Setlist calculations are estimates based on the song durations, transitions and other information you provide.
Actual performance times may vary because of applause, talking, tuning, equipment changes, tempo variations, encores and other circumstances.
You are responsible for complying with performance schedules and venue requirements.
Accuracy and Availability
We try to make Indie Music Math useful and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every calculation, recommendation or piece of information will always be complete, error-free or appropriate for every situation.
The website and its tools may be changed, updated or discontinued at any time.
Third-Party Products and Services
Indie Music Math may mention or link to products and services provided by third parties.
A link or recommendation does not guarantee the performance, availability, price or suitability of a third-party product or service. Purchases and transactions with third parties are governed by the terms and policies of those third parties.

Unless otherwise indicated, the original text, design, calculators, software and other original material published on Indie Music Math are owned by Indie Music Math and may not be reproduced, republished or redistributed as a competing product or service without permission.
You are welcome to link to Indie Music Math and share links to its tools.

Limitation of Liability
Indie Music Math is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the extent permitted by law, Indie Music Math and its owner are not liable for losses or damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the website or its tools, including damage to instruments or equipment, lost recordings or data, manufacturing costs, missed performance times, or decisions based on calculator results.
